Yupp, I'm the photographer.
Yes, I need your sessions to make a living for my family.
But I'll also be the first to tell you that I never did professional photos when I had my first daughter and for one main reason- I did not have the money.
I was a recently divorced single mom that had to ask her parents for help just to pay rent.
There was no way I was going to drop hundreds of dollars on photos (although trust me I wanted to sooooo bad). It wasn't about it being too expensive. It would have been worth the cost. It was that I simply had no money to my name for YEARS. So I didn't have the money even though the photos would have been worth it.
As a business owner and a professional, I have to find a balance in wanting to support my clients that come from all walks of life, and regardless of their financial situation, give them something to cherish for generations to come, while also still being able to feed my own 5 kids and make an income.

Photos are one of the few things that we want to keep forever and pass down generation after generation. We want photos hung up, we want them on our social media, the background on our phones, we want good headshots for our resumes and websites, we want to show pictures to our friends and coworkers. We want something nice to print for our grandparents and to put on our holiday cards.

Yes, full sessions are more ideal for clients.
You get more freedom in choosing dates and times and locations and overall vibes.
Full sessions also allow the photographer (me) more opportunity to get to know you
and what you want to get out of the session to make sure everything is unique for you.
You also get more photos and usually more benefits like print credit or other perks.
But mini sessions sometimes are just the more practical choice for you and the season of life you are in.
They still give you beautiful photos. They still capture memories. They are still special and cherish-able.
Mini sessions are also a really great option when you aren't wanting a big huge gallery and full length session.
It's a much more reasonable option for getting photos taken more frequently.
